The Carboline Company has it's world headquarters located St Louis County Missouri. The company was founded by a 1935 Washington University chemistry graduate, Stanley Lopata, in 1947. He invented a "carbon-based-lining" for glass lined tanks which lead to the founding of the Carboline Company. Today they are still in the "lining" business, as well as offering fireproofing and high performance coatings products worldwide.
